I really hate my camp, I really do! Its a camp full of uncessary regimentation and full of people using their ranks to think instead of their head. Fancied booking in on a Wednesday night to sleep in camp just to have breakfast in camp and then book out? Fancied booking in on a Friday night just to clean rifle till noon? Fancied taking out the rifle to clean almost every other day and still deemed dirty because of opposing opinions? Fancied going on a course and not touch your rifle for more then a month and NO ONE touched it and just to be told that your rifle is dirty and you will have to sign EXTRA duty. I have only stayed in my camp for a good 2months and my total tally for extra duty has already hit an amazing SEVEN, of which 4 were guard duties on Saturdays and writing reports FOR UNECESSARY things... Always being threatened by all these extra duties if a task is not performed on time or up to standard, ever thought of giving me off days if I did better then expected of even performing the task on time, NO! Ever since I got posted to my mother unit life hasn't been smooth sailing AT ALL. Every minute I find myself living in fear, even on my off days I get SMSES telling me, "Sgt the Duty Officer just checked your rifle and its dirty!", FUCK I just cleaned it yesterday and I got alot of the seniors to check and they said it was very clean! All I can conclude is people in the army get too carried away by the power that is given to them. In the army rank talks not the head. I find myelf respecting my superiors rank more then respecting him for being a good leader. Do you feel good being defended by a bunch of incompentent group of leaders. I am sorry but I am not confident at all. Jeremy 9 more months! Hang in there!
