Parental love, the love that is shine upon us by our daddys and mummys. How often do we take them for granted. Many of us are very fortunate to have parents who love us unconditionally. I watched a DVD last night entitled "I am Sam", looking at its cover I thought it was a love story about a couple, a love stroy it was, it was a story about a father's love for his child.

I am Sam stars Sean Penn and Michelle Peeffer. The story is about how Sean Penn acting as mentality disabled father tries to win the custody of her daughter, with the help of a lawyer, Michelle Peeffer.

The story depicts how Sean knowing that he was at a disadvanage, was able to win her daughter back from the children welfare with his sincere love and undaunting patience for his daughter. The connection he shared with his daughter made me felt envious. A mentaliy challenged adult was able to win the love of his daughter and even though he was not birght, he tried his very best to give her happiness in every possible way. Happiness which most of the time people may deem as matierial well being, don't we hear this often "Boy do well for your exams and I will buy you this or that?". Sean defined parental love as care, patience, to lend a listening ear even though sometimes you don't know what they are saying?

The show has moved me and thus I am recommending it to everyone. It's the closet you get to unconditional love. When asked in the movie by the opposing lawyer, "Who do you look up or take as a role model to parenting your daugther?". "Me, I know what is best for her, and I am firm with that!"
